I enrolled in this class since I took a Holocaust and Genocide class my senior year of high school. I have always been interested in this topic and have always wanted to visit the places we have gone to on our trip.

I decided to take COM340 because I have always been interested in World War II, but I felt I was lacking when it came to specific information regarding the Holocaust that took place during this time. This class not only gave me relevant and interesting information regarding the Holocaust, but also allowed me to experience the cultural differences that are present in the modern day firsthand by traveling to Poland, Germany, and the Czech Republic.

I took this class to have a better understanding of my family history. Because of World War 2, my grandfathers family was driven out of Poland. Him and his brother served in the allied forces and at the end of the war, liberated several concentration camps. My mother's side of the family also lived in Bavaria, Germany, and experienced the Jewish people being removed from the community, as well as the Allied forces liberating the area. This course has allowed me to understand the circumstances surrounding my grandparents young adulthood and the continued effects that World War 2 and the Holocaust have today.

I took this class because I have studied the Holocaust for most of my life and wanted to see the sites I’ve been studying for years.

I took this class because I have been interested in the Holocaust since 4th grade and wanted to learn as much about it as possible while traveling and making memories to last a lifetime.

I choose to take COM 340 because as a history major I have always been interested in that time period and the integration of film was a plus. The opportunity to go and visit the places we would be discussing also added another dimension because it would be connecting all the information together and make it more impactful.

I chose to take COM 340 to learn about a historical moment but also experience the area where it happened. I wanted to learn about the Holocaust but also travel and visit the areas where it happened to get different perspectives about the situation.

I chose to take COM 340 to learn about a historical moment but also experience the area where it has happen. I wanted to learn about the Holocaust but also travel and visit the areas where it happened to get different perspectives about the situation. My grandfather (dad's side was) in Auschwitz, Lillian Moskpwitz. I received 15 years of Holocaust education in Hebrew school and I wanted a different perspective because the stories of my relatives (survivors) told me we're when I was very young. This is a fascinating subject and there were certain landmarks I needed to see in person. I didn't know  we were going to see the names of Czech Jews that we're killed in. the Holocaust but it was very emotional and moving to see their names honored in a synagogue in the Czech Republic.

Hello! I'm an associate professor of communications in the Department of Strategic Communications, where I teach courses in public relations. Why research explores intersections of gender, power, and ethics- so I was especially interested in learning more about the various campaign tactics, messaging strategies, and forms of power used  during the WWII and holocaust era. Most importantly, I am committed to our Quinnipiac University students and their personal and professional learning experiences. It was truly a pleasure to have the opportunity to chaperone this trip.

I selected the Holocaust and Film study abroad trip class to honor those who were lost in the Holocaust. Also, to preserve their heroic stories to be passed on through the generations.

I decided to take Com 340 so I could learn more about my family's roots. It was nice getting to explore different topics through films. It gave me a different perspective. I also have been learning about the Holocaust in Hebrew school and have always wanted to visit the places I have learned about. My grandfather was born in a small German town of Küstrin-Kietz, which is located near the Oder River on the border of Poland. His family moved to Berlin in hopes of enrolling the kids into safer schools because the Brown Shirts (The Nazi Party militia that helped Adolf Hitler rise to power) were beating up his brothers. On the night of Kol Nidre Eve, October 4, 1938, my grandfather, along with his three brothers and parents, escaped the Holocaust and the S.S by just three hours. He was four years old.

I chose to take this course because I have always been interested in the history of the Holocaust. Over the years I realized we had been learning a lot of the same information on this topic. This course has taught me so much new information and has given me a different look on a huge part of history.
